This volume in particular has the Chocolate Cornet scene (if you ever watched the anime you would know! In my faulty memory, the cause for my disinterest was an overabundance of strictly "Japanese" references I did not "get" as an American reader. You could say that the subject matter (or rather the humor that Kagami Yoshimizu was trying to use) didn’t necessarily work well with the 4-koma format. The first bound volume of the manga was published on January 8, 2005, and as of 2011, eight volumes have been released. Kadokawa Shoten produced a visual novel game for the PlayStation 2 entitled Lucky Star: Ryōō Gakuen Ōtōsai ( らき☆すた 〜陵桜学園 桜藤祭〜) which was released in Japan on January 24, 2008.

One of the original series he created was Lucky Star, which became popular and was subsequently picked up as a regular series. Kadokawa Shoten also produced an SLG game for the PSP titled Lucky Star: Net Idol Meister ( らき☆すた ネットアイドル・マイスター), released in Japan on December 24, 2009. A stereotypical klutz character, Tsukasa is the younger fraternal twin sister of Kagami and lives in a six-member family household with her parents.A bit of a Flaw is, the Pacing feels a bit slow for the first few Reading Hours, but its getting much better after the supporting Cast got introduced, and we are greeted by a whide variety of Girls whit different Personalitys. Anyway, Lucky Star is a "yonkoma" (otherwise "4-koma," a four-paneled comic strip) manga, and like many of its ilk it focuses mainly on slices of its characters' lives, structured loosely around somewhat weak jokes not unlike the sort one would find in the newspaper "funny pages. the volumes are just a big pile of random comic strips, there's no real storyline to the manga or anime itself.

The humor of this segment takes on a decidedly darker, mean-spirited, more cynical and mature tone than the main show, disguised as an infomercial that skims over characters who appear in the anime, but mainly deals with the progressively abusive and violent work-relationship between Akira and Minoru. Lucky Star really is a series that should be heard in Japanese by Japanese voices and not read in English with a stiff translation. A video game, titled Lucky Star Moe Drill ( らき☆すた 萌えドリル, Raki☆Suta Moe Doriru), was released on December 1, 2005, on the Nintendo DS. This is like the dessicated corpse of Azumanga with all the comedy, inventiveness and charm sucked out. However, for membership rank calculation, the monthly purchase amount is calculated based on the eBook's release date.
